Here is what you can expect in the Estate Planning process, as Chip creates a comprehensive, custom plan that protects you, the people you love, and your legacy.
- Complimentary Initial Counseling
- Chip will get to know you, your family, and your specific situation. He will educate you on the benefits of an Estate Plan, explore options to best solve your issues, and answer your questions in plain English. Your fee is determined based on the complexity of your Estate Plan.
- Design Meeting
- Upon your decision to engage Chip to develop your Estate Plan, he will meet with you again, to further address the concerns you have raised in your initial consultation. This is an in-depth working meeting where he will develop a plan that best serves the needs of you, your family, and your charities.
- Signing Meeting
- Once the documents that accomplish everything you want to do in your Estate Plan are created, Chip will meet with you a third time, for your Signing Meeting. As you sign documents, he will review the benefits and impact each document will accomplish for you and your family.
- The Portfolio and CD Copies
- Chip's office will digitally scan the original signature copies of your documents, then cut a CD (compact disc) for you and any of your successor trustees and children that you would like to have a copy. The original signed copies are presented to you in a portfolio for safe-keeping.
- Funding
- We transfer and re-title your home into your Revocable Living Trust as part of your Estate Plan. All of your other financial assets will need to be transferred into your trust as well. Most of our clients prefer to do this themselves, using the instructions we provide. Or for a small fee, we will do it for you.
